Row Height Dumb Question

I know how to get MS Project (I'm using 2003 Prof) to
increase the row heights and word wrap.

Having done this, I would like to go back to the original
reduced row height view. Is this possible? If so, can you
please point me in the right direction?

Try the following:

1. Click the Select All button in the upper left corner of the task sheet
to select every task in your project.
2. Click and hold the lower border of any row header (gray box at the left
end of the row)
3. Drag up to the original row height
4. Release the mouse button

This procedure should restore the original row height of every row. Hope
this helps.

Yes I have tried this and it did not work.
This would be the natural thing to try but the truth is
I've never been able to get this (or any other method) to
work on any MS Project versions I've had. In fact, I've
even made sure to expand all the tasks and extend the
column width substantially to make sure everything would
fit.

Has this ever worked for you? It seems like such a simple
thing to want to do so I'm surprised it doesn't work and
the Project "help" doesn't even mention "reducing" row
height explicitly.

Have you ever heard of someone being able to do this?

Try this experiment:

1. Make the row height of any task much taller than is needed (like 5 times
as tall)
2. Grab the lower edge of the row header for that tall task and drag
upwards to reduce the row height back to normal

Are you able to reduce the row height using the above steps? If not, what
happens?

Interesting Experiment.
First let me define the term 'thick' row height as the
current 'increased' row height that I'm trying to get away
from.

1. When I grab the row header to make a really tall row
(say 10 times the 'thick' row height), the row height only
increases to about 4 times the 'thick' row height. In
other words it doesn't stay where the cursor is but snaps
back a bit.
2. I have to re-grab this new (4x thick) row header again
to get it to fully increase to where the cursor is located
(say, approx 10 times 'thick' row height).
3. In both cases, (4x 'thick' and 10x 'thick') row heights
are returned only to the 'thick' row height when I grab
the row header and try to reduce it to something smaller
than 'thick' row height.

If the above is difficult to follow please let me know.
