row height

When I create a table I can't change the row height
unless I change the font size. If I try to copy & paste
an excel spreadsheet into word, the column width changes
on some columns & I can't correct it. When I paste it,
it gives me the option of keeping the formatting the
same, or change to destination formatting. I always
leave it the same as the original formatting, but it
changes anyway. Is there some sort of setting that I
don't have set correctly? How do I fix this problem?

Have you tried setting an At Least or Exact row height in Table Properties?
