Rows resize mysteriously

I am using Excel 2003 and have a problem where some rows resize to
height 409 whenever bold is applied to the first row, which contains m
column titles. The spreadsheets were created in Excel 2000 on severa
different systems, and appear normal in that version. If I remove th
bold formatting, the cells resize correctly to a normal height.
