With a single domain controller running exchange2003 sbs, I have 5 machines
connecting over broadband connections all using Outlook2007. 2 computers are
Windows XP pro, joined to the domain, 2 are Vista Ultimate on the domain, and
1 vista ultimate machine not on the domain.
All are very similar machines, however the windows XP machines connect to
the exchange server very quickly. When you open outlook its typically syncing
folders within 15 seconds.
On the Vista machines, the same process takes at least 4-5 minutes, on the
machine that is not on the domain, its 2-3 minutes before I am prompted for
credentials (which, btw, is there any way to store those besides join the
domain?) and another 3-5 minutes before its updating folders (though shift-F9
starts working about 6-7 minutes in [total time]).
I've tried turning firewalls off and on, my exchange settings are pretty
basic and I'm using the default recommended SBS settings for rpc/http.
(Actually used the remote web workplace instruction set to setup the clients
just to be sure).
Any thoughts?
