RPC over HTTP Outlook 2003 doesn't work on all computers

I have configured Outlook 2003 to use rpc over http for Exchange 2003 connectivity off of the network. I have successfully connected on a couple of laptops, but not on most others. They are all configured the same, and I can't seem to find anything that is different. The comps that aren't connecting are accepting the username and password, but Outlook keeps "Trying to Connect" and "Disconnecting",but never "Connected". Any advice would be appreciated, maybe I'm not seeing something obvious.

Thanks

Since you don't mention what operating system, I would start with the
obvious things....

1) Everything needs to be Windows XP SP1 with update KB 331320 or better. (I
recommend a minimum of Windows XP SP2 or newer)

2) Since you didn't mention if you are using a self-signed or 3rd party
certificate to secure the website/rpc directory, I will remind you that the
operating system/outlook needs to be able to verify the certificate back to
the issuing certificate authority. Therefore if you are using an internal
PKI, make sure that the workstation has a copy of your internal CA
certifcate installed in the "computers" trusted root store.

3) Is your site using the DisableRpcTcpFallback registry key? (Turning this
on will not allow the Outlook client to switch between the two connection
types.)

4) You might want to verify that the 4 registry keys mentioned in this
article exist on the client workstation.

Sorry Neo,

I was leaving when I wrote this, so I obviously left some information out. Your advice helped me out, the client machines didn't have the cert installed locally. Now everything works fine after installing. I knew it would be something simple that I was overlooking, but this is the first time I've set it up so I wasn't sure what I was looking for.

Thanks for the help.
