RSS Feed Hotfix

Alex

I tried installing the KB950282 hotfix for Outlook 2007 in order to fix my
disappearing RSS feed problem. When starting the install, I get this message:

"The expected Version of the product was not found on the system"

What does that mean? What version do I need?

I have the latest Office SP2 installed. Why won't this hot fix work?

Okay first, please don't just answer my question with a link. That doesn't
help me. I've already been to that page and read everything, plus I had to go
there to download the hotfix.

Actually try to answer my question with words, please. Why won't the hotfix
work? What version of Outlook or Office do I need? That page says I don't
need any prerequisites.

That message usually means you already have it installed - many hotfixes are
rolled into updates and SPs. Based on the KB article date, I'm guess this
fix is in SP2. The hotfix is mainly for people (often corps) who aren't
ready to roll out large update/sp's but who need a specific thing fixed.

Are you still losing RSS feeds? If so, export your feed list, delete the
feeds in outlook (and the folders - if you need the content. move them out
of the RSS folder), disable sharing with the common feed list and import
your feed list.
