I am running Outlook 2002 on two different computers, copying the pst file from one to the other as needed. This seems to work well except that the first time Outlook runs after copying the pst file, any message invoking a rule is not processed, an error message is displayed stating that the relevant rule could not be run, and the rule is turned off in the Rules Wizard
I deal with this by opening the Rules Wizard, turning any rules that have been deactivated back on, and using the "Run Now" feature to process the unprocessed messages. The rules function properly from there on, including any rules not evoked the first time email was downloaded. I have observed that if there are no messages downloaded the first time I open Outlook, that I still have to go through this procedure the first time that messages *are* downloaded
Any ideas on how to avoid this unwanted detour? TIA.
