Outlook 2002 SP-2
Windows 2000 Pro SP-4
I've been using Outlook 2002 for a long time and have had several rules
defined, some for whitelisting, some to catch spam, and some to
reorganize my incoming e-mails. I've seen the bug where rules don't get
exercised on the first scheduled mail poll when you first load Outlook,
but I've never seen this error dialog before nor have I heard of users
getting it. It's new to me.
I opened Outlook 2002 and a "Rules in error" dialog window popped up
showing 2 of my rules. I closed the dialog and manually ran all the
rules together (which is how they would run normally) and didn't have a
problem. Some items did get moved or deleted because of the rules when
I ran them manually.
This is a new one on me. Never got this dialog before. Never seen it
with other users, either. What would cause a rule to error, especially
since it is a rule that I've had for a very long time and has worked
before okay? This was the first time I've been hit with this error.
The error has not occurred on subsequent loads of Outlook (but then I
haven't gotten new e-mails against which the rules would trigger based
on their criteria; i.e., I'll have to wait to see if similar e-mails
that would trigger the same rules cause the same error).
