Rules limitation at only 32KB....makes no sense

I did some searching before I posted, and I found that MS claims the rules
file can't exceed 32KB, there are no third party apps that will support a
bigger file size, and that their plan is to never change this for backwards
compatability reasons. Sure, makes sense, until I remembered something.

Outlook 2003 archives, while the option is there to create one that will be,
are NOT backwards compatable. So if we can use bigger archives with more
features, why can't we use a bigger rules file? What the heck?!?!?! Mine is
already at 19.8kb....

Because the rules are contained in a single Outlook item and the limit for
data in a single item is 32k. To change that would require wholesale
architectural changes that would affect every single aspect of Outlook's
operation.

I understand what you are saying, that just doesn't seem very well planned to
me. I would think there would be some type of add-on, or potential upgrade
for it. Outlook is used in both corporate and personal environments, and
rules are used in both as well. I just don't feel that 32kb is sufficient.
