Rules not working after downgrade?

M

Mark

I was using Outlook 2003 (attached to Exchange server on a LAN) on an older
machine but it was very slow. I had some rules setup to direct mail (from
certain senders) to certain subfolders of my inbox.
Outlook 2003 was running very slowly so I downgraded it to Outlook 10 (is
this XP?)
Now my rules no longer run, and I cannot even delete them to set them up
from scratch!
Any ideas how I can overcome this problem please?

Thanks
Mark...

Yes, Outlook 10 is Outlook 2002 from Office XP. So the rules are there but
they won't run? Have you tried running them manually, one at a time?

Hi Jocelyn,
Thanks for the reply. Yes the rules are there. When I try to run now, I get
the 'select rules to run' box with nothing in it. When I try to delete the
rules, the delete, copy, modify and rename buttons are all greyed out. Tried
setting up new rules (duplicate) to do the same thing but they dont work
either!
Any more help?

Since rules are stored within the .PST file in Outlook 2002 and 2003, you
might want to try running the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) against your
..PST while Outlook is closed, to see if that helps. Make sure you allow the
tool to create a backup copy of your .PST before it makes any changes.

Hi Jocelyn,

Sorry to drag this up again but I still havent solved it...
Im not using a PST file, my mail is delivered direct to my mailbox on a
corporate Exchange server and my Outlook connects to that.

Any more ideas
Thanks
Mark...
