No, what I meant was that MSDE was replaced by SQL Server Express.
So far as I can tell, the first version of that was 2005, so,
"almost half a decade".

And, BTW, I set up a Blackberry Enterprise Server in late 2004, and
the only small-scale, free version of SQL Server at the time was
MSDE, so my previous post about SQL Server Express 2005 being the
replacement for it seems to be correct.
