RULES <sigh>

OK, MVP's and MS Outlook specialists, what's the latest about Rules? They
work, they don't work, they sometimes partially work. Is there a fix that
I've missed?

Thanks,
ZILLA

Version of outlook? Are they getting unchecked in rules wizard?

Basically, they won't work when outlook first starts, because it pulls mail
before the rules engine loads. They should work on subsequent mail checks.

Thanks for your feedback. Office/Outlook 2003 SP1, XP SP2.
In my particular case all of the functions of a specific rule work the first
time it runs, then it omits 1 or 2 of those functions after that. There is a
long thread in this group that queries a plethora of issues with rules:

I was hoping for the "Magic Fix" that someone finally figured out.

You do bring up a good point though. Every time I first fire up Outlook
there are *always* errors polling for messages. Usually POP, and sometimes
HTTP. Sometimes with the Password popup window. I leave it running after
that, and all is fine; except for the occassional Password window.
