Michael,

Sorry, I didn't mean that. I wonder if you can make a link to a .ppt
file in a web page?

The reason formy question is that I would like to be able to put a
whole series of PPT presentations on a CD and thought that one way of
presenting them to the user would be to list them under particular
headings using a browser.

Then; I would suggest using this if your going to put them onto a CD Check
this out and see if it meets your needs.

Make an AutoRun CD

Michael,

For the sake of augument, say I have lots of .ppt files on a CD - how
do I arrange that when a user double clicks on a .ppt file, the .ppt
file opens in a viewer and does not open the full PPT program?

Cheers

I don't think you can, but if you make them all .pps files (PowerPoint
shows) when double-clicked they will open in Slide Show View even if they
open in the full version of PowerPoint.

That would be up to what the end user has on their system. If all they have
is the viewer it is not a problem. An alternative is to save all your
presentations as Slideshows .PPS This setting when double clicked and the
recipients file associations are set up correctly it will open in the
Slideshow mode. The AutoRun link I sent you to earlier handles this, as the
viewer is on the CD and is automatically launched when the CD is inserted.
