Run rules on a schedule?

One feature I was hoping to see in Entourage 08 was the ability to execute
rule X on source Y on schedule Z. Just like I can empty the trash on quit,
I'd like to be able to gather up all my sent email that's >3 months old and
move it from my Exchange server storage to a local Sent Items folder every
day/week/month/whatever. Automatic housekeeping to help keep me from
hitting the quota.

Is there another way to schedule this kind of housekeeping that I don't see?
Rules only act when mail is received or when manually invoked.
Schedules won't invoke rules. (why not?)
I'm sure I could schedule an Applescript that does that same result, but
that seems absurd.....

AutoArchive Exchange Account to "On My Computer" (currently broken in
Leopard)

Move all e-mail older than 60 days from your Exchange account folders to
archive folders within the "On My Computer" folder tree.
