Run-time error 1004 from workbook attached to Outlook email

H

HB_temp

I'm running MS Office Pro 2010.

Attaching an Excel spreadsheet - either a .xls with macros or a blank .xlsm file - to an email, receiving that email in Outlook then clicking on said attachment throws the exception

Run-time error 1004
Method 'Onkey' of object '_Application' failed

with only the "End" button enabled. A progress window also shows, but it's frozen with the contents

Microsoft Excel 2010
Calculating (4 Processor(s)): 100%

I can dismiss all this and the workbook functions quite normally anyway, but I wonder if anyone has seen this behaviour and how it might be mitigated (patch?)

Thanks.
