Run-time error '-2147024769 (8007007f)'

Hello I am working with a contact template -relearning
Access XP with SP2
and all the latest updates. But I keep getting the Ms
Visual Basic run-time
error '-2147024769 (8007007f)':
Method 'Connection' of object'_CurrentProject' failed;
after which I am
unable to open the existing database file. The only
options left are, END,
DEBUG, and HELP.

This error message is only displayed while calling the
switchboard.

When I hit debug, the following
message is highlighted: Set con =
Application.CurrentProject.Connection

This is an .mdb

any help would be appreciated!
