run time error 3052

Ben

i get the following runtime error on one of the pcs i use, but not the other:

Run Time Error 3052
File share lock count exceeded
Increase maxlocksperfile registry entry

I have checked out this registry entry on both pcs and they both have the
same value. Why would one cause this error while the other runs fine? Can I
just go and increase this value? Is there any harm in doing so?

thanks,
Ben

Access 2003. This occurs with a database my development team has created.
We arent sure why it will run fine on one machine, but produce the described
error on another.

Any help appreciated,
Ben

It's easy to panic. I just guessed.

The newsgroup would benefit if you could post back what you eventually found
as your resolution.
