I am trying to find a solution for a perplexing problem.
I have an Access database which contains a Swtichboard form that opens when
the database is opened. Most users have no problem opening the Switchboard
form, but one user in particular keeps getting and error reading "Run-time
error '429': ActiveX component can't create object" while tring to launch the
form. The problem is that the installation of Access cannot open a DAO
connection to the database in order to read the Switchboard Items table to
apply to those functions the blank buttons in the Switchboard form. This
problem seems to popup for this user even after swapping out her pc for a new
pc with a fresh installation of the Office suite.
I have tried the following solutions from the KnowledgeBase but neither of
them have helped resolve the issue:
1. Re-register the DAO360.dll file.
2. Reinstaling MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) as shown in
KnowledgeBase article 304173
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q304173/). The person who created the image
used to setup the pc suggested using v. 2.7 instead of v. 2.8
Any further help or solution would be great.
