run-time error Abnormal Program Termination

While typing a documment using word 2002(widows xp home)
about half way through the first page I get an error box
titled Microsoft Visual C++ Run-time Library. The actual
error message reads: run time error progam c:\program
files\microsoft office\office10\winword.exe. At the
bottom it says abnormal program termination.

Whats causing this to oocur, how is it fixed.
