Run Windows PPT on School Mac ?

My 6th grader prepares occasional Powerpoint presentations for school
projects using my PC and Office 2003. The school has only Apples or Macs
based systems, so we (and others) can't put together presentations that can
actually be shown at school. This subject has probably been beaten to
death, but I can't find anything through Google or in the one or two
newsgroups I've located so far. My version of Powerpoint doesn't seem to
have a "save as" option that would work for a Mac based system. I searched
for products and found a bewildering number of versions (PowerPoint 2001,
PowerPoint X for Mac, PowerPoint 2004 for Mac, PowerPoint 97, PowerPoint
2000, PowerPoint 2002 (XP), PowerPoint 2003 for Windows, PowerPoint Viewer
98, etc.)

Is there a simple way to take a new (or older version) PowerPoint file and
present it on a Mac computer? If there is a simple (and not too expensive)
piece of software for this purpose, I would probably be willing to buy it
and donate it to the school. Any help would be appreciated.

PowerPoint is compatible across systems so what you do on Windows should
work on a Mac...with a whole list of exceptions. Details can be found at:
