running 2 d-bases

I have two data-bases, which I need to have open at the same time. Some days
I have no problem opening them both, and other times it goes into "Not
Responding" mode. On these days I have tried shut-down restart, opening only
the Access programs, opening them in different orders ~ but nothing seems to
work. Then, then next day they will be fine again... sometimes even later
the same day?
Anyone ever had similar problems? I asked our computer support person, and
he had no answers, and suggested it was an "Access" problem.

It appears to be an office/windows installation problem.

Access loads and uses many different library files from
Office and Windows: if these files are mis-matched, or
the wrong version, then Access will fail.

Problems like you describe occur because sometimes
one version of a file is already loaded: another time
a different version is loaded, or no version is loaded
until Access tries to load one of the MDB's.

Depending on which files are loaded and used, Access
may fail or work correctly.

Since the problem is evident with Access, you should
check the REFERENCES in the Access projects, and you
should re-install the latest JET service packs.

Yes, they are accessed over a LAN and shared with others, but I have had them
open before, and the only time that causes a problem, is if I try to make
design changes, and it tells me that others have it open, and I won't be able
to save my changes. I think this is a different problem, because the 2nd
d-base just won't open at all, and it sends the one that is open, into "not
responding" mode when I try.
