Running 2003 and 2007 on the same PC

I installed 2007 and later found out that I could have installed 2007 and
kept the 2003. I really need both because I teach 2003 at one college and
2007 at another.

My gut tells me that I have to uninstall the 2007, install the 2003 again
and then reinstall the 2007 using the 'keep' option. Does that sound about
right?

Also, I have the full copy of 2003. Will there be problems installing it
again - since this is the second PC I purchased that had it, it will be the
third install?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When installing more than one version of Office on the same computer,
the suggested method is to install in order from oldest to newest. So
yes, I'd say it would be better to uninstall 2007, install 2003, and
reinstall 2007. Make sure you specify a different installation folder
for each version.

You have to choose between Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 because you can
only have one or the other, but you can have both 2003 and 2007 versions
of the the other Office applications. If you want to keep the 2003
versions of Word, Excel, etc., alongside the 2007 versions, then choose
a Custom installation of 2007, and choose to keep the 2003 versions in
the Installation Options tab.

If you have important emails in Outlook, then be sure to back up your
Outlook .pst file(s) before uninstalling, just in case Something Bad
happens. Ditto with Word's normal.dotm template and any custom
templates you created, autocorrect list, and custom dictionary if you've
extensively modified those.

and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928091 "Information about using
2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another
version of Office" for more information.

Depending on how recently you activated the previous two installations
of Office 2003, you may or may not be able to activate your third
installation using the online method, so you may need to use the
telephone activation method and explain the situation to a Microsoft
activation representative.

Thank you! I don't use Outlook at all on this PC so that is not a problem. I
assisted a friend with the phone thing so I am aware of it. Once again, the
forum comes thru.

Much appreicated,
