running a presentation on one screen while working on another...

Hi,
I have two screens running on my PC and i want to run a powerpoint
presentation on one while working in other programs on the other. The problem
is everytime i select another program i.e. word or excel, the presentation
pauses.

if anyone could help, that'd be great.

This is by-design of PowerPoint. To workaround it, look at PowerShow add-in
from http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html. Among other things,
it allows you to run PowerPoint slide shows on monitors while working on
something else on a different monitor.
