Running Slideshow

MS PowerPoint 2000
OS: Windows 2000 Pro

I am trying to run a slide show on a secondary monitor. The slide show
works fine on the secondary monitor until I go to any different application.
Once I go to another application (let's just say I go to read my email in
Outlook while the slideshow should continue running) the slide show pauses.
What can I do to keep the slideshow running while I work in other
applications on my primary monitor?
