Running Sum If Kills Excel 2003

Have a user here who runs very complex Sum If computations in Excel 2003.
Before she was running Sum If in Excel 2000 and it would take about 5 minutes
for the calculations she needs to do. Now with Excel 2003, it just stops at
about 45% 10 minutes in, and hangs excel. Only way to get out of it is to
kill Excel.

Anyone have and idea?
