runtime error keeps interupting word processor

I get about ten minutes on Microsoft Word when a "runtime error' message
appears and I lose everything I've done to that point.

Does it say anything more than "runtime error"? Any details?

Offhand, it sounds like an add-in that is misfiring. You might take a look
at the diagnostic steps shown here:
