Salutation / Courtesy Title not available in Mail Merge

Hello,

I have Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager installed.I have a
list of Business Contacts who I wish to send a letter to so I started a
new Campaign, went through each of the steps and then clicked Launch.

When in my letter, the problem I having is I can't see the Courtesy
Title or Salutation (ie. Mr., Mrs. etc.). The Greeting Line displays
'Dear Joe Bloggs' each time regardless of what I select. So I thought
I'd use my own Dear line and used Dear <<Courtesy Title>> <<Last Name>>
which just displays - Dear Bloggs - the title is still missing. The
Courtesy Title is taken from an 'Address Field' selections and is blank
for all records. There is nothing in the 'Database Fields' that seems
to do what I want it to do.

The only thing I seem to be able to get with 'Mr.' in it is the Full
Name (ie. Mr. Joe Bloggs) which is not what I want.

I'm sure this has come up before, however can anybody make any
suggestions?

Dude:

Go into a Business Contact record and click on the Full Name button. This
brings up a dialog that shows you what the Title value is for that contact.
Sounds like the merge is working but you don't have any data entered.

HTH,
Lon

Hi Lon,

I'm afraid that's not the answer. The data is there which is why it
shows up in Full Name within the merge, however the Courtesy Title
field is empty.

I'm not even sure if Courtesy Title is what I should be looking at but
it's the closest to it that I can see.

Hi Lon,

I can't understand why it's working for you and not for me. I haven't
customised any part of BCM nor do I have a fancy setup that could
confuse things.

I did go into Match Fields but I couldn't see anything for title so I
didn't match anything - I just left it.

An update to this.

It's still not working at all. The match fields will ONLY allow you to
match 'Database Fields'. Courtesy Title (which is what I'm looking
for) is not in there. If, however, you go to Insert Fields on the menu
bar, you can insert 'Address' fields. This does allow you to insert
the Courtesy Title which is there. However, it's blank! If you insert
the 'Full Name' field, it does insert it properly (ie. Mr Joe Bloggs).

However to have it say 'Dear Mr Bloggs', you can't use the Greeting
Line insert. And, as 'Mr' isn;'t available through Courtesy Title, all
you get is Dear Bloggs.

This problem surely isn't isolated to me is it?
