save a Word page as a scaleable .jpg image

I want to be able to included scaled down, decent reolution images of any
Word page as a "picture" within any Word page. My problem is that I don't
know how to save my selected Word page as a picture. I would prefer a .jpg
format because they appear to be efficient from a file size point of view.

The simplest way to do this and maintain resolution after scaling is to copy
the page to the clipboard, then edit > paste special > as a picture (Windows
Metafile). Scale the imported image as required then save as a web page >
htm format. This will drop the image into a sub folder as a GIF format file
at the size you scaled. The sample page I just tested produced a 16kb GIF
file.

The problem with this approach is that when you actually use Copy in Word,
you can't copy an entire page, including header and footer. A screen shot
will accomplish this, but it is difficult, without dedicated screen capture
software, to get just the page. For this purpose I highly recommend SnagIt
from TechSmith (www.techsmith.com), and I know Graham will second my
recommendation, as we both rely on it heavily for our Web pages.

I will certainly second that, but there is a minor question mark over issues
of scaling. I guess I would use wmf output format if I was going to scale
the image in Word. Some experimentation here would be needed to get best
results.
