Save after printing

Word 2002, Windows XP

Every time a print a document and then close it I get the message "Do you
want to save the changes...." even though I've already saved any changes
before printing. Why is it doing this and how can I stop it?

If you look at the Undo list, you'll see that the last item is "Update
fields." If you are sure that updating fields won't have changed the
content, you can safely close without saving. This will not happen if you
clear the check box for "Update fields" on the Print tab of Tools | Options,
but (a) some fields (page numbers and everything else in the header/footer)
are updated anyway, and (b) you may look like a doofus because your TOC or
index doesn't match the actual page numbers.
