Save and Re-Import Project "Commits in Stone" Old Timesheet Entrie

Environment: Project Pro 2002 and Server 2002 SP1.

Question: We are following the procedure that's shown here several times but
specifically the one Gary Chefitz has in his book for renaming a project. We
save the project out of PWA on the local hard disk, then rename it and
re-publish it. The project, assignments and all the old data comes back, but
if a resource notices that he/she made a mistake in their timesheet sometime
in the past and wishes to correct it, it's not allowed. All of our other
published projects allow us to make corrections to past time that has already
been submitted and accepted. Somthing we are doing wrong? I apologise if
this is a simple question but my right-hand person -- the PM who I worked
with to install the system has left and we don't have experienced people at
the wheel yet (I now have a new respect for all you PMP's). Many thanks.

Robert:

When saving out the project and deleting it from Project Server, the old
timesheet history is lost, and you, therefore, can't change it. At this
point, the Project Manager must make any changes to the history through the
Project Client.
