When performing a "save as" with an office document, there are headings (i.e.
two weeks ago, last month, etc.) that appear in the save as window. How can
I turn them off? And what happend to make them appear suddenly?

That happens when the View is "Details", the icons are sorted by Modified
Date, and the "Show in Groups" choice is checked in the right-click menu
"Arrange Icons By" settings. If you change the arrangement to sort by name,
the groups will be by letter of the alphabet. Or if you sort by size, the
groups will be Tiny, Small, Medium, and Large.

To turn off the headings, right-click a blank area of the list, choose
"Arrange Icons By" and click "Show in Groups" to uncheck it.

Click on the little arrow to the right of the "Date Modified" column and
review the settings there.
