"Save as..." not working

One of our workers cannot use the save as... option in
either Word or Excel. Save is available in the File menu,
but Save As.. is grayed out. It was suggested here that it
could be due to 3rd party software or a virus. The
computer has no software that isn't on another computer in
the office and noone else is having this problem. We did a
virus scan which turned up nothing. Then, I uninstalled
Office and installed Office 2000. Still no luck.

Any other ideas or suggestions? Could it be some setting
in Windows 2000 maybe?

What happens if you start Word with the /a switch? Use Start, Run and type
in

winword /a

and press enter. Does that return the SaveAs command?
