Save As not Working

When I try to do a "Save As" of an MPP file, (I.E. into excel or csv), I get
an "Operation failed" error. Does anyone have any suggestions what would
cause this?

Yes. It appears that the Patch KB948962 that MS issued on the 8th, did this.
You can check the KB listed to determine a work-around.

I did what Lapoliko said. In control Panel>Add remove programs (show updates
needs to be checked). Look for MS Project 2003 and remove the update
KB948962. I restarted project and its now back to normal. Thanks Lapoliko!!

Just as a note. It sounds as though you are uninstalling the security
update to solve the problem

You can simply (as Jan noted) choose Tools > Options, click the
security tab and change the setting to "Allow loading of legacy
formats". Then you can Save As Project 98 files. Please see:

As mentioned this option is not available in the Project 2003 version.
Uninstalling the KB patch worked for our office too.
