Save As... problem

Having a hard time saving documents As in Word 2002 (with SP2).
When click on Save in: dropdown list it's freeze for 1-2 minutes.
When it comes back alive after clicked on the drive it happens again,
all the way down where I want to save the file. Mouse pointer becomes
hourglass. Also if I got too nervous and trying to click again then it
breaking at all and eventually comes back asking if I want to send
problem message to MS.
Same happening with Outlook and Express. It's killing me.

Has anybody seen it or know how to fix it?

How many applications are open when doing this particular application? How
much memory is in your machine? Also check to see if menu animations are
enabled, go to Tools=>Customize=>Options make sure "Menu animations" is set
to "None".
