Save Baseline Automatically

P

Perl

Hello,

We have Project Server 2003.
I want to save baseline (Baseline 0) once a week, at the same day for all
Gantts (30-40 gantts).

Is it possible to do it automatically ?

Thanks

It's difficult to imagine why you would rebaseline a project on a weekly
basis. Accepting that you have good reason, you could write a macro to do
this, and possilby setup a schedule job. Depending on how automated you want
it, determines how much coding you have to do. See the following for some
ideas how to proceed. You 'll need to adapt these instructions for your use:

Saving to baseline saves baseline data for all Views. For time critical
projects I often advocate saving to Baseline every week just before
timesheet updates. That way you can see the weekly trend for progress.
However project 2007 updates do show you this but only when actually
updating and the view is not available once the update is complete.

I save to Baseline1 after phase1 is scheduled, Baseline 2 after phase 2 is
scheduled and so on. I also create Tracking Gantt1,1 etc so it's easy to see
current progress against any baseline.
