Save in Bar npt responding when attempting to save an attatchment

When I attempt to save an attatchement from an incoming email it is taking up
to a minute or two for the save in bar to respond on the first time. After
it finally does respond then it will respond instantly the rest of the time
for that email. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what may be causing
this?
