I've worked with Word and Excel 2000, 2002 (aka XP), and 2003 all at the
same time with absolutely no problem. No conversions necessary - I just
opened the files as needed.

I have no problem with the files, what I was trying to do was use the save my
settings wizard from a 2003 machine to use on Office XP setup

yes, It says it can not read the file. I still have access to the other
computer if there is a way to save down.

I think in that case there is no solution. Office XP probably doesn't
understand the file format used by Office 2003, and there's no reason to
expect that it should. Your best hope is to make note of the settings on
Office 2003 so you can replaicate them on the Office XP system. You may
be able to save soome of the critical files and copy them into the
appropriate folders in the new system, Those files include normal.dot,
custom.dic, and Excel.xlb. I'm sure that others here can suggest more.
