Save shanges? there are none

MS Word 2000; Windows XP Home.
When I open a doc; look at it and then close it, I am
prompted "Do you want to save changes?"
There were no changes.
Happens with every document.
Fix?

If it is asking about changes to the document, chances are the document
contains fields which are updated upon opening or printing. Updated does not
mean changed, but Word senses it as a change. If you are being prompted
about changes being made to the global template normal.dot, that is a
different issue.
