Save won't hold selections

When I create a simple word document and lock the
edit/spell check (options/tools/spelling&grammar), I save
it and then attach it to an email. When the recipient
opens it, the formatting is not the same, for example,
some text from page one is spaced down and now on page
two, unrecognizable words are now underlined in red,
grammar checks are underlined in green.
How can I save a document with all the options I want the
viewer to see/not see when they open it. What is
happening to change the settings/view? Thank you in
advance for any advice you can spare!

For the most part, you can't. The recipient is going to view the document
using local settings. This means that the layout will be influenced by the
printer driver selected (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TextReflow.htm). You can prevent the
spelling and grammar squiggles from showing up, however, by checking the
boxes for "Hide spelling errors in this document" and "Hide grammatical
errors in this document" on the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options.
