I have saved some old emails i needed to a general file before i needed to
install something.I could click on them and the email would open up
correctly.This was in office 2000 pro.but now i have upgraded to office xp
2003 and try and click on the emails i saved in the folder and all that
happens is a new email comes up with my email address in send to box and
message description in subject.but cannot view original message.
is there a way of viewing the saved message or importing the saved messages
back to new version of outlook?

There is no rightclick-> save...

What letters are behind the dot? For instance; filename.msg
