saving a file with linked graphics

when i save my file with linked graphics, i loose the image if it is save below the third folder of a tree.

what version of Publisher?
are you Insert menu, picture... to add the image
or
are you writing the image in an html code fragment?
If the latter what is the code you have?
What do "you" mean by "loosing"?
What is the url of the site?
