saving a Hebrew/English document

I import a Hebrew document from Davka Writer in an rtf
format. I then bring the rtf format up in Word, reformat
the layout from left to right margin and below the Hebrew
text, I add the English translation. I can print this
perfectly while I have it onscreen. However, when I save
the English/Hebrew document and later try to bring it up
again, I have lost the Hebrew portion of the document and
next to the first line of the English portion is a
vertical line along the left margin.

1. How to I save the document in a way that retains both
the Hebrew and the English?

2. How do I get rid of the left margin line?
