Saving As in Word and Excel 2003

After installing the recent microsoft updates, when I go try to save a
document as another name, doing File/Save As, my Word or Excel 2003 becomes
unresponsive and I have to control/alt/delete to get out of it. Anyone know
why it is doing this, and the fix to make it stop?

jus a wonder, i recently updated my pc and everything was fine for a day or
so
then my programmes were not responding and i too had ctrl,alt,del to close
down, anyway with abit of research i found that in order for the programme to
run well i had to download another programme to make my recently downloaded
programme work to its full potential (service pack 2 - service pack 3) which
i cannot do now (unless i have the cd required for it). i do have my product
key number but thats another problem i need to find out about too. --
