Saving background.

Hi
I made up a table in excel, pasted it into word. Basically it's a few grids
for guitar chords.
Now I just want it to be there as a background or watermark so I can draw or
insert text as I wish over it.
I've had a look at the two options mentioned but they seem to need image
formats to do this.
Do I have to print, scan then take it in or is there an easy way?
