Hi ya,
I've been using the trial version of Word 2003 as part of
the Office 2003 Pro edition on a Win XP Pro SR1 machine.
It was installed as a fresh install on a newly set-up
HDD - not as an upgrade.
When working on reports and document all seems fine,
everything works fine etc. However, after saving a few
times on the same document (or others?) the application
seems to hang (the processor jumps to 100% utilisation
with WinWord.exe being the culprit). I am unsure whether
this is due to a memory leak or bug in the software - it
didn't use to do this when I had Office XP on the system -
which I was using on the same HDD prior to re-installing
Win XP and then using Office 2003.
I am also unsure whether it is due to the trial version
of Office 2003. Because the trial finishes in abouts 3-4
days time, I am really unsure whether to purchase the
full version or simply revert back to my previous XP/2002
version - which I know works fine.
Note: the only way to recover (because the system doesn't
do anything about the problem) is to crash out of Word
(force the app to close) then load it again. But this
time, when you re-open Word - the file is NOT "recovered"
so any changes I may have been working on is lost...
Windows Event doesn't report anything (cos it doesn't
crash the app - simply locks it....with high processor
usage)....
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Aaron
