Excel 2002 SP3
User is saving an Excel email attachment that has been password protected
for write access. She saves is locally, does a Save As and renames it with
no problem using the default MS Excel 97-2002 format. Then she makes changes
to the document and clicks Save and it crashes Excel. She has discovered
that if instead of using the MS Excel 97-2002 format, she uses Microsoft
Excel Workbook, there is no crash.
Running Repair from the Control Panel did not help, nor did resetting the
Worksheet Menu Bar and Standard toolbar. She does not have Ignore Other
Applications checked. Is there some other reason the default MS Excel
97-2002 format causes these documents to crash? This is a consistent
problem. Thanks!
