I have my database on my desktop computer and want to save it to flash drive
so I can take it to work with me. I have tried "Save as" and "Export"
without any success. Thanks for your help. Karen

Hi Karen,

Just copy the .mdb file to your flash drive, using Windows Explorer. You
will, of course, need Access installed on your work computer so you can use
your database there.

The "Save as" and "Export" menu items are for saving (within your database)
or exporting (to another database, or to an external file (perhaps losing
some 'information' such as form design)) specific objects (tables, queries,
forms, reports, etc) within your database.

I have tried finding the file in Windows explorer, but can't find it. I
copied what I thought was it, but it turned out to only be the shortcut that
I copied.

The easiest way to do it is going to Windows Explorer and copy the file
as you would with any other file you copy to your flash drive.
