Saving Document with Text Box and Table

Stephanie

I created a document using a mixture of text boxes and tables for someone
else, then emailed it to her. My original document, in Print Layout View,
shows the whole document. When she opens hers, it doesn't show the text
boxes. She switches to Print Layout View, saves it, then reopens it, and it
is back in Normal View. What is the problem?

The Properties of my original document show it was created with Normal.Dot
layout. Will changing that now have any effect on the already-created
document?

First of all, just switching views and saving doesn't actually save the view
change (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/SaveViewAndZoom.htm), but note
that the document shouldn't open in Normal view unless you saved it that
way. If she isn't seeing the text boxes in Print Layout view (they will
never be displayed in Normal view), then tell her to check the box for
"Drawings" on the View tab of Tools | Options.
