Need help

I have microsoft Office word 2003 when I save a document it saves it twice.
It saves it once as the name I give it and again as the same name except the
first letter is removed and replaced with a wave symbol and a $ sign. If you
try to open this document it is not readable. How do I get rid of this
duplicate saving mode.

The second "document" is the temp file created for editing purposes. It
should be deleted by Wrd when the original document is closed, UNLESS
someone has set the permissions on the folder to prevent deleting. Fix
the permission/security setting on the folder and the "problem" will
solve itself.

Need help

I notice that even when I open a document that I have saved it saves it again
with the wavy line and $ and the name of the document. How do I get to this
permission area.

Right clicking on the folder in question, selecting Properties, and then
Security tab.
