Saving Down PS 2007 to 2003

At the conference Adrian showed a link so that you can either save
down 2007 schedules to 2003 or it allowed PS2003 to read 2007
schedules. He put it up to quickly and i was only able to get it
all. Can anyone help me with that link?

Thanks

I did not see Adrian's presentation at the Project Conference, so I cannot
comment on what link he might have shown you. However, I can tell you that
earlier versions of Microsoft Project (2000, 2002, and 2003) cannot read
native 2007 project files. This means that you must open the project in
Project 2007, click File - Save As, click the Save as Type pick list, and
select the Microsoft Project 2000-2003 format. If you need to consistently
save files in this format, you can click Tools - Options - Save and select
the Microsoft Project 2000-2003 format from the pick list at the very top of
the page, which makes this the default format for saving each project file.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, there is no file converter currently
available from Microsoft so that users of 2000-2003 can automatically open
2007 format Project files. Hope this helps.

This functionality is contained in SP3 for Project 2003.

Thanks much for sharing. Isn't this the same SP3 that seems to "break"
certain features in Project 2003 and Project Server 2003? :)

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting to install it or
anything... I'm just sayin'...

Yeah, that emoticon he used....

It came out in the chalk board session with Adrian that for many of us the save as function in 2007 does not always work and does not save it to a 2003 format when selected. Thats why i asked the initial question. Orginially i thought it was something i did but i found out in the session that many people are having the same problelm.

Unfortunately, your experience is the same as many. Just one more of the
bugs that Microsoft must ultimately fix in 2007. Thanks for sharing!
